Parkside School is a hidden gem, nestled in 45 acres of beautiful Surrey countryside on the banks of the River Mole. But its stunning grounds and location are just scenery compared to the standard of education and calibre of pupil the School is producing. Proof of this has just landed with the most recent ISI (Independent School Inspectorate) Inspection Report, which has highlighted Parkside as being excellent in all areas.
ISI Inspections look at the quality of academic provision, pupil achievements (both academic and other), their personal development and the values and ethos within schools. The October 2022 Parkside SI Inspection Report highlighted all of these areas as “excellent’; with so many positive comments, it is difficult to pick out the best.
The School’s creative curriculum and teaching style were praised for being “well paced” and “lively” with staff and Leaders commended for going “beyond their normal duties to support and work with pupils”. The report states that “pupils’ high rates of progress arise from teaching which is consistently well planned and executed”.
The progress, achievements and “thinking skills” of Parkside pupils was highlighted in the report and attributed to the “teachers’ consistent strategy of answering their question with a question.”
The personal development and social skills of Parkside pupils were assessed and pupils were acclaimed for being “excellent communicators who have a notably strong sense of right and wrong”. Their social development was deemed to be “outstanding”, which was accredited to the “collaboration and mutual respect between staff and pupils and pupils themselves”.
Parkside is a School with a heart, which prides itself on a strong sense of family and community. The pastoral provision is woven throughout its high academic rigour to produce decent, modern gentlemen with strong moral fibre. The report states that “there is a palpable sense of warmth and togetherness, as pupils generously praise their peers’ efforts and achievements”
